Not the same as lonely...

It has become apparent (and finally accepted) that I will be mostly alone the remainder of my days. And though this seems somewhat unsettling to me at this time, I can take comfort in accepting that I do not 'need' to be with someone. And (we've already discussed I can begin a sentence with and, so...) as I refrained from the dating scene while raising my kids (now 22 and 19), I know I have it in me to do so.

My new quotation (eyes left) states;

The strongest man in the world is he who stands most alone.

Ohoh...

According to Terminator lore, today Skynet becomes self-aware and goes operational... changing our world (and that of Christian Bale) forever.

Think I'm gonna grab a Timmy's.

Found on Twitter...

The greatest trick Skynet ever pulled was convincing the world it didn't change its name to Google.

And so it comes to pass...

In a Facebook conversation I just had I was 'asked' if I was having a better day.

This was my reply;

If the weekend was a time to accept a need to refocus, and yesterday was the acceptance of that, then today is what the new focus will be about.

If you know me or have met me then you've more than likely heard me utter that every day above ground is a beautiful day. Surely (and, I don't mean to call you surely) if you can start your day with a thought as simple as that then your day can't help but be 'better'. Ninety-nine days out of a hundred ain't so bad.

Be well... Read More...

April the Eighteenth...

The day just ended will be a day I won't soon forget, if ever.
Was a day I said goodbye to someone who'd been my 'best friend.'

Words of an American Poet...

In looking for some status-update words of wisdom I came upon some sage advice from Jim Morrison.

Enjoy.

* People are afraid of themselves, of their own reality; their feelings most of all. People talk about how great love is, but that's bullshit. Love hurts. Feelings are disturbing. People are taught that pain is evil and dangerous. How can they deal with love if they're afraid to feel? Pain is meant to wake us up. People try to hide their pain. But they're wrong. Pain is something to carry, like a radio. You feel your strength in the experience of pain. It's all in how you carry it. That's what matters. Pain is a feeling. Your feelings are a part of you. Your own reality. If you feel ashamed of them, and hide them, you're letting society destroy your reality. You should stand up for your right to feel your pain.

* That's what real love amounts to - letting a person be what he really is. Most people love you for who you pretend to be. To keep their love, you keep pretending - performing. You get to love your pretense. It's true, we're locked in an image, an act - and the sad thing is, people get so used to their image, they grow attached to their masks. They love their chains. They forget all about who they really are. And if you try to remind them, they hate you for it, they feel like you're trying to steal their most precious possession.

* Man, I'm sick of doubt.

* The most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are. You trade in your reality for a role. You trade in your sense for an act. You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask. There can't be any large-scale revolution until there's a personal revolution, on an individual level. It's got to happen inside first.

* You live you die and death not ends it.

* Expose yourself to your deepest fear; after that, fear has no power, and the fear of freedom shrinks and vanishes. You are free.

* The future is uncertain but the end is always near.

* No one here gets out alive.

* I like people who shake other people up and make them feel uncomfortable.

* A friend is someone who gives you total freedom to be yourself-and especially to feel, or not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at any moment is fine with them. That's what real love amounts to - letting a person be what he really is.

* People are strange . . .

Authentic...

– adjective 1. not false or copied; genuine; real

Was mentioned in a conversation today and I had to think hard of when I'd encountered this in a relationship and I've found that I cannot recall a time when I felt so.

I Stand Alone!

Nothing like misplaced trust to wake you up!
Some people are just meant to stand alone rather than with someone.
It is something I've now come to accept.

Update...

Just a quick update people.

Though my 'meet' didn't go off, April the Eighth was awesome. Since that time things have been going, well, words escape me (I know, how is that possible).

I was faced with a choice, one a long time in the making. In the end it was an easy choice to make and I have to say that it's been the right one (for more reasons that I'd thought).

One day

As the proverbial million things run through my mind... I sit here, well, pumped doesn't do justice to how I feel. Be 'it' personal or business, as I'd said earlier this is just my year.

All good things come to those who wait?
Good things come to good people, period.

Gonna shut-down for the night, up early today.

That also means I'm one day closer to my birthday, and, one day closer to meeting someone who has my attention, who has me feeling excited.

Nice feeling that is. Read More...
